Masala for masala dosa

Masala dosa is a south indian breakfast, served with any chutney and sambar.

Here we share the recipe for potato masala which is filled on dosa before serving.

Preparation time : 5 minutes

Cook time : 15 minutes

Serves : 6 masala dosa

  • Ingredients:
  • Dosa batter
  • 1 large potato
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies, slit into halves
  • 1/4 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • Salt as required

Method:

Boil the potato, mash well and keep aside.

In a pan, heat 1 teaspoon oil, add mustard seeds, after it crackles add curry leaves, green chillies, ginger, onion and saute for a minute. Then add mashed potato, pinch of turmeric powder, salt and mix.

Potato masala is ready.

In a pan, make dosa, sprinkle few drops of oil over dosa, place little potato masala in middle, fold the dosa, and serve with chutney and Sambar .
