Paneer pulao

Here is the recipe for simple paneer pulao cooked in pressure cooker.

Preparation time : 20 minutes

Cook time : 20 minutes

Serves : 4

Ingredients :

1.5 cup basmati rice, wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 medium tomato, finely chopped

whole garam masala , 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise, 4 cardamom, 1 bay leaf, 4 pepper corns

1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste

1 green chilly

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon chilly powder

200 gms paneer

Method:

Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pressure cooker, add all whole garam masala, saute for a minute. Then add onion, saute till light golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste, saute for 2 minutes, add tomatoes, green chilly , saute for another 2 minutes, add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, paneer and saute for a minute.

Add soaked rice, saute for a minute, and add 2.75 cups of water, salt and mix little and close the lid and Cook on high whistle. After 1 whistle, switch off the flame, let the pressure settle and then only open the lid. Serve the paneer pulao with raita and pickle.

Note:

Jeera rice can be used instead of basmati rice.

Do not soak jeera rice.

For 1 cup of jeera rice, add 1.5 cups of water.
