Aloo Paratha

It is a North Indian dish made of wheat paratha stuffed with potato filling. This paratha can be served for breakfast , lunch or dinner with yoghurt or pickle. Cheesy potato tikkis along with aloo paratha made our dinner feel very special!

Preparation time :15 minutes

Cooking time : 30 minutes

Ingredients :

  1. potato – 3 medium (cooked and mashed)
  2. green chilly – 1
  3. Kashmiri chilly powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  4. turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  5. garam masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  6. ginger – garlic paste – 1/4 teaspoon
  7. lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
  8. Atta (wheat flour) – 2 cups
  9. coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)
  10. salt, oil , ghee

Method :

Step 1 :  In a large mixing bowl, put mashed potatoes .

 Step 2 : Add slit green chilly, Kashmiri chilly powder, turmeric powder , garam masla powder , ginger-garlic paste ,lemon juice ,coriander leaves and salt. Combine it very well.

Step 3: Prepare paratha dough using atta , salt and water. Once the smooth dough is ready, grease it with a teaspoon of oil . Make balls out of dough.

Step 4 : Roll out the ball. Place a lemon sized aloo filling in the middle. Now take the edge and pleat it towards the centre . Pinch it to cover the filling properly. (Alternatively , you can also roll out 2 balls , place the filling in the middle of one of the rolled out paratha and cover it with another)

Step 5 : Roll it out again.

Step 6:  Heat a tawa. Cook the paratha with little ghee  until it turns golden brown on both the sides.
