- uridh dhal – 1tsp
- 1-2 red dry chillies
- 2 small onion
- 2 medium tomatoes
- turmeric – a little
- salt – to taste
- mustard seeds and curry leaves for tempering
Heat oil in a pan. Add urid dhal. As they turn light brown add red chillies (careful not to burn dal and chilli).
Once they turn brownish, add sliced onions and saute well till golden brown. Then add sliced tomatoes, salt and a little turmeric. Saute till the tomatoes are softened and cooked. Once the mixture cools, grind well without adding water.
Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
