Batoora / Bhatura

Batoora is a soft and fluffy deep fried bread. It is usually coupled with chana masala /chickpea curry . Nevertheless , it tastes really good with Chicken 65 .

Preparation time : 15 minutes , (4 hours- dough resting time)

Cooking time : 10 minutes

Ingredients :

  1. Maida (all purpose flour ) – 2 cups
  2. Atta – 1 cup
  3. baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon
  4. sugar – 1 teaspoon
  5. yoghurt – 2 tablespoon
  6. egg – 1
  7. Ghee – 1 tablespoon
  8. milk – as required
  9. salt

Method :
Step 1 :Take a large mixing bowl. Put all-purpose flour, wheat flour and baking soda. Mix it well. Now put in all the other ingredients (except milk).Combine it well. Now knead it into a smooth dough by adding milk as required (little by little) .Keep it aside covered for atleast 4 hours .

Step 2 : Make 8 – 9 balls and roll it out( size of a chapatti) . Cut each into 4 equal parts.

Step 3 :Heat enough oil in a kadai. Deep fry them until golden brown on both the sides.

Serve it hot with your favorite curry.
