These baked oatmeal are tasty, filling and healthy breakfast option. Its a delicious grab n go snack as well as kids approved too. This recipe is for plain oatmeal bars and you can always add fruits, nuts of your choice to the oatmeal mix before baking. Options are plenty depending on your taste. berries, apple, banana, walnut anything can be added while mixing to give nutritious oatmeal bars. I have topped it with fruits just before serving it warm with milk.
Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cooking time : 40 minutes
Ingredients :
Oats – 2 cups
Brown sugar – 4 tablespoons
Salt – a pinch
Cinnamon powder – 1/2 teaspoon ( you can add 1 teaspoon, if you like)
Baking powder – 2 teaspoon
Egg- 2 , medium sized
Butter – 2 tablespoons, melted
Milk – 3/4 cup, warm
Method :
Preheat the oven to 180 c. Apply butter on the baking dish and set aside.
In a large bowl add oats, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon powder and mix well.
In another bowl add eggs, butter, milk and whisk well. (Add any fruits of your choice to this bowl if you like). Add this wet mix to the large bowl and stir gently till just combined.
Pour this mixture to the prepared baking dish and bake for 40 minutes at 180c.
Slice into pieces. Store it in an air tight box for upto 5-7 days.
Serve it with milk, honey, maple syrup n top it with fresh fruits for breakfast. Or have it as a snack bar.
