Potato Pola / Potato Pizza

Potato pola can be called Potato pizza . In this, grated potatoes are used as base; topped it with masala and mozeralle cheese. I have made plain masala with just onions and tomatoes. chicken or veggies of your choice can be added. Its perfect for evening snack, for iftar etc.

Preparation time : 10 minutes

cooking time : 30 minutes

Ingredients :

  1. Potato – 2 medium (grated)
  2. onion – 1 (chopped)
  3. Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  4. ginger -garlic paste – 1/2 teaspoon
  5. chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  6. coriander powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  7. turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  8. garam masala powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  9. maida – 2 tablespoon
  10. cornflour – 1 teaspoon
  11. capsicum – 1/4 (green/orange)
  12. mozzarella cheese – a handful
  13. oregano – a little
  14. egg – 3
  15. paprika powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  16. salt, pepper
  17. oil

Method :

For the base:

Peel and grate the potatoes (uncooked) . Transfer it to a bowl. add maida . Season with pepper and salt. Combine well. Then add cornflour . Mix it very well. Set aside. –

  To make masala :

Step 1 : Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan, saute onion until it turns translucent. add ginger-garlic paste. saute until raw smell disappears. then add tomato and cook till it turns soft and mushy.

Step 2 : Add in chilli powder, coriander powder , turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix it very well. Switch off after a couple of minutes. Set aside.

For the topping :

Step 1 : break open 3 eggs into a bowl. Season it with salt, pepper and paprika powder. whisk it well.  Set aside.

Step 2 : cut the bell peppers/ capsicum of your choice into square or julienne cut.

Assembling :

Step 1 : Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan. Spread the prepared potato batter evenly and thinly . Cover and cook in medium flame.  After 5 minutes, flip it over.

Step 2 : Spread the prepared masala evenly on top.

Step 3 : Pour the egg to cover the entire pola .

Step 4 : decorate with cut capsicum pieces, sprinkle mozzarella cheese and oregano. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium to low flame .

Note : shredded chicken pieces can be added while making masala.
