Khatti Meethi Aam ki Chutney is a spicy-tangy-sweet side dish that goes very well with any breakfast / lunch / dinner meal. It can be stored in refrigerator for months in an air-tight container (like any other pickle).

- Raw Mango – 6 (medium) or 8 (small)
- ginger-garlic paste – 3 tablespoon
- red chilly powder – 3 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder – 3 teaspoon
- Pepper corn – 10
- vinegar – 1 cup
- sugar – 2.5 to 3 cups
- jeera – 3 teaspoon
- fenugreek seeds – 3 teaspoon
- curry leaves – a handful (cut into tiny pieces)
- mustard seeds – 3 teaspoon
Step 1 : Wash , peel and grate mangoes.
Step 2 : Heat a thick bottom non-stick pan . transfer the grated mangoes into the pan along with a little water . saute for 5 minutes
Step 3 : Add vinegar and peppercorns to the above. heat for a while. Then add ginger-garlic paste. Mix well
Step 4 : now add red chilly powder and turmeric powder . saute well
Step 5 : In a small frying pan , dry roast fenugreek seeds and jeera until aroma comes. cool it and then powder it finely. Add this to the mango mixture.
Step 6 : Finally, add sugar and salt. saute and heat until it is done well.
Step 7 : Heat enough oil in a small pan. Crackle mustard seeds. Then put curry leaves. Switch off the flame. Add this to the mango mixture.
