Butterfly Chicken

 

Butterfly chicken is a very delicious starter dish. It resembles butterfly somewhere ; hence the name. Thank you dear Afra for sharing the recipe. Its my kids’ new favorite. Chicken cubes are marinated and kept inside a slice of potato through which the toothpick is screwed in. Go on, check the recipe and give it a try.

Preparation time : 15 minutes

Cook Time : 15 minutes

Ingredients :

  1. Chicken breast – 150 gms
  2. mint leaves – 1/4 cup
  3. coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  4. green chilly- 3
  5. curd – 1/2 cup
  6. cream (fresh / tin) – 1/4 cup
  7. ginger – garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
  8. pepper powder – 1-2 teaspoon
  9. chat masala powder – 1-2 teaspoon
  10. chicken masala powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
  11. potato – 1 big
  12. salt.

Method :

Step 1 : Clean and wash the chicken breast well. Pat dry. Cut it into small cubes. Keep it aside.

Step 2 : Grind together mint leaves , coriander leaves and green chillies in a blender to a fine paste with 1 teaspoon curd.  Transfer this paste to a bowl.

Step 3 : To this, add ginger – garlic paste, curd, cream, pepper powder, chat masala powder, chicken masala powder. Add salt as required. Mix well.

Step 4 : Marinate the chicken cubes in the above. Keep it aside.

Step 5 : Make thin slices of potato. Place one marinated chicken cube inside a potato slice and pierce a toothpick through them. Repeat the same for all the chicken cubes.

Step 6 : Heat enough oil in a kadai. Deep fry these butterfly chicken until it turns golden.
