Rumali Roti


It is a thin flat bread usually served folded like a handkerchief( rumali). Hence the name.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes


1. Atta – 2 cups

2. Maida – 1 cup

3. Oil

4. Rice powder

Prepares – 18 rotis


Make a dough using atta , maida with water and a pinch of salt. Make even number of balls.

Step 1:Apply oil on one side of all the balls.

Step 2:  Then apply rice powder on the same side .

Step 3: keep one ball on top of the other with applied sides facing each other.

Step 4: Now roll out the balls that are in pairs.

Heat a pan well. Keep in high flame. Put the roti pair. after 10 seconds, flip it over.

Step 5: Take it out and immediately separate the rotis (should be done immediately or else it becomes difficult).


Fold it like handkerchief. Serve it hot with Veg curry / Non veg curry !
