Chicken Butter Masala

Chicken Butter Masala is a very delicious chicken dish. A delightful chicken dish which is very creamy. The cashewnut cream gives it a richer texture and taste. It is such a flavorful dish loved by both kids and adults alike. It goes very well with Roti/ Paratha .

Preparation time : 10 minutes

Cooking time : 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – 1kg (cut and cleaned)
  2. Onion – 3 (chopped)
  3. Tomato – 2 (chopped)
  4. ginger – a small piece
  5. garlic – 4-5 cloves
  6. green chilly – 4
  7. cashew nuts – 20
  8. tomato paste – 3 tablespoon
  9. milk – 1/2 cup
  10. red chilly powder – 1 teaspoon
  11. coriander powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  12. turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
  13. garam  masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  14. butter – 2 sticks
  15. salt
  16. coriander leaves- to garnish

Method :

Step 1: Heat butter in a sauce pan. saute onion . When it turns soft , add tomatoes. After a while, add chicken and salt.Let it boil.

Step 2 : Make a paste of ginger,garlic and green chillies. Pour the paste to the above chicken mixture. mix well.

Step 3: Now add red chilly powder , coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Saute for a couple of minutes. Let it boil until chicken is well cooked.

Step 4 : Powder cashew nuts. Make a paste of cashew nuts by blending it with 1/2 cup of milk. Add this to the above.

Step 5 : Finally ,add tomato paste. Simmer cook for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat. Garnish with coriander leaves.
